Being one of Josie Neglia’s greatest fans, I’ve always had the pleasure of watching her dance, not only in person, but with world champion Ballroom dancers like the late Peta Sidall. Prior to his passing, both Peta and Josie partnered together in creating one of the most thorough and well-thought-out Cha Cha videos on the market today.

On the dance floor I’ve seen all sorts of ways Cha Cha can be danced. On the One, the Three, the Seven… forward and back, stumbling over each other, inappropriate fast Salsa spins "off-time"… a myriad of incorrect and inappropriate Cha Cha styles that make dancing Cha Cha rather difficult, and almost impossible for some dancers to coordinate. I was one of them.

Since learning ballroom dancing,  I’ve learned the do’s and don’ts of Cha Cha. I watched Josie and Peta’s Cha Cha for Beginners video from beginning to end. All throughout, he would say, "Yup, she’s right. That is correct. Finally! An LA Salsa instructor who teaches Cha Cha the ‘right way’." He said to me.

Breaking the step down "correctly" was another very important thing for us to see.

For example,

All of the above is "correctly" and beautifully displayed by both Josie and Peta. Josie displays stunning footwork and Ladies Styling, while her partner Peta demonstrates a confident solid and polished masculine lead.

Josie NegliaThe video is a tribute to Mr. Peta Sidall who died just weeks after production. Josie tells us that Peta’s death is a reminder to "Live life to its fullest". His death made her realize that life is a precious gift, both beautiful, and very short. Josie tells me that although there will be many more videos to come, Peta will live on forever in this special Cha Cha video they both created together.
