Well, well, well. I TOLD YOU THIS NEW SITE WAS GOING TO BE THE BOMB. My partner and friend, Benjamin Rapoport, finally did it.  WHAT A SITE DESIGN ... GEEEZ!   That's right folks, Ben decided to go ALL OUT this time.  He's such the technical genius, artistic marvel, computer wiz/geek, and oh, by the way, NOT TO MENTION,  an AMAZING "Two" AND "One" dancer  -  just general, overall "good guy"

(...just don't piss him off)

Yes, this is really my plate!

A Hilarious Email from Salsaweb's Eagle and Warrior, now "World Famous"  Washington DC World Correspondant, Sammy Rodriguez:

"Edie what a Cake.
1. I too celebrated Manny's Birthday at the DC Salsa Festival.  It was awesome.

2. For the Second Night of the Festival I hired a Drag Queen to sing Ese Hombre from India. It was just SHOCKING!! TO THE MAX... I get on the Microphone and Give a speech on Salsaweb in front of 400 people to tell them The Importance of Salsa and how we should be united, and that Salsa knows no barriers or cultures.

I was getting everybody excited with the Message of Unity and Diversity and Salsaweb being the Mecca for Salseros worldwide.

Then I said, "Now I want to present Sophia...", and out comes this Skinny Drag Queen in a Tight Pink Body Suit. Everybody was Gasping for Air. The Women were glued to the guy's Penis Croch because it was very obvious - oh my God - and she started to move all over the place - nobody moved.  When the song was over everybody started screaming and applauding and talking about his High Heels - it was beyond comments. So I accomplished my goal. But I wanted the drag queen to sing to Manny but Manny showed up after she left, so that did not go well.

3. Edie, all these Professionals came up to me to shake my hand and introduce themselves. A lot of people that know of me were like. "It's an honor to finally meet you, good job" THE GUY FROM THE CRUISE CAME UP TO ME AND I DID NOT RECOGNIZE HIM. D'lille Thomas the Dancer Knew Me By Name.

4. While on the microphone I asked like in a Naive Tone "Does Anyone know about this Thing Out there called SalsaWeb?" Edie...Almost Everyone started Screaming and Jumping and Waving their Hands.

5. People came from NEW JERSEY and South Virginia.

6. D'lille Thomas was Awesome."

Katarina from Stockholm also had a little get-together Salsaweb celebration from her country!  Thank you!  She had printed and handed out a small "Thank you from Ben and myself" letter I had written to all the Salseros that evening.  Thank you very very much Katarina!

Salsaweb's one year party was also celebrated at the Sportsman's Lodge in Studio City, CA.  Ben and I gave out thanks to Albert Torres for helping us get over our Web Hosting bill this month. I was "gang danced" for my birthday - that was a KICK!  I look forward to that every year.  Gang dancing is when the birthday boy/girl are in the middle of a circle, and a bunch of men/women take turns dancing with you during an entire song!  I got flipped, dipped, and tossed around like a tortilla!   It was a blast!   It's a real test of your stamina too, cuz each guy doesn't have to dance the whole song with you - BUT you have to dance the ENTIRE song with a fresh new guy THAT'S FULL of energy every few seconds!  I get the biggest kick out of it!

I think I got the most rush from being led around the dance floor a few seconds with Ms. Laua Canellius, professional Salsa/Mambo instructor from Los Angeles.   I wasn't used to being lead by a WOMAN before.  Laura is a phenominal teacher and a FANTASTIC LEAD!!!  WOW!  If she weren't a woman, I'd ask her to be my dance partner!  Whew!   This woman JAMS!  There is hope for all of you budding Salseros out there... if a WOMAN can lead another woman, than this leading thing is a walk in the park!
