Creating Something
Out of Nothing...
Creating something... out of nothing... where nothing existed before... A profound thought came across me while I was driving home tonight with members of the Salsaweb staff and video Advisory Board after our pre-shoot at the television studio. We were JAMMING in the FREAK-Mobile, listening to Celia Cruz sing her fabulous songs, "Bembelequa" and "La Guagua" off her Irrepetible CD. It suddenly occurred to me that as dancers, we design our lives, creating "something", out of "nothing" that existed before. I've noticed that dancers the world over, MAKE SURE they get the most of life, and MAKE SURE they have a good time doing it...
It struck me that we are we are now creating "something" out of "nothing" as a team. Something, meaning learning to dance, dancing together, then creating a mechanism for people to enjoy sharing stories and ideas about dancing with us the world over (Salsaweb Magazine).
The exciting thing, is that now, where absolutely no "pure" dance documentaries JUST ABOUT DANCERS existed before, we are creating them... an entire series..."something" for all of you to enjoy... What a fantastic thing...
...to create "something" out of absolutely "nothing", that will last generations and lifetimes to come...
I'm so thankful to all of you for your overwhelming support, ideas, contributions, and simply for the love and passion we all share for this wonderfully addicting Latin rhythm we refer to as Mambo and Salsa...
"People blame circumstances for where they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this life are the people who go out and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can't find them, make them." - George Bernard Shaw
