Edie's Take on the Feminist Movement...

I thought this was important enough to tell every man and woman I know just how I feel about this issue, so everyone knows where I stand and where I'm coming from when I give advice to others on this site...

From "Little Princess" of the Chatboard: "Dear Chatboard,
Off! with the feminist's heads! Really!, I'll say it again to any of you who agrees with the feminist point of view....YOU KEEP CONTRADICTING YOURSELVES LADIES!!! Give the guys a break, and give them credit where credit is due."
- Lil' (Anti-Feminist, Feminine) Faith [aka Princess of the Chatboard]

I agree with the Lil' Princess.  I can't stand how far the feminists have taken their "movement". Through talking with friends and family, and watching couples on dates and at clubs, I have found that guys just don't know how to act around women anymore. I get countless emails all the time from both women and men who are trying to figure out "who" should buy "who" a drink, or "who" asks "who" to dance "now-a-days", "who" pays for what part of the evening, etc. I even got an email from a guy about his partner WANTING TO LEAD on the DANCEFLOOR for crying out loud...

Frankly, I think this feminist thing has gotten WAY OUT OF HAND! I believe there is a place for a woman, and a place for a man. I think we need to respect each other's role in society. If we did this, men wouldn't feel threatened at all because they know where they stand as the leader in the relationship, and ladies would be treated like "ladies" because they know how men should treat them.

When a woman takes over in a relationship and starts "wearing the pants" in the family, or at work, or on a date, the guy basically shrivels up. He has no backbone, and lets her run right over him. HE BECOMES SPINELESS. Now, what woman would want to be with a man like that? It would be like going to bed WITH A WORM.

It's so sad to see the feminist movement create worms out of men. Thinking about it, I guess I’ve just gotten so used to it, that I end up grabbing my wallet when the bill comes, I open up my own door strictly out of habit, I walk on the "street" side of the street without even thinking about it, and don't expect too many manners or respect - if anything at all from any guy I'm with. I end up having little or no respect for men that allow me do all the above. The gentlemen that don't let me pay, will open my door, buy me flowers, and walk on the "street side" - I REMEMBER with a passion and warmth in my heart. I respect them a lot more for the simple reason that they respected me. This goes with anything in life. I love it when a guy opens a door for me. I love it when he steps on the "street side", I love it when he takes the bill, compliments my dress, and brings me flowers. THAT, my friends is what EVERY woman craves deep down - feminist or not.

I love to be treated with respect and dignity - like the way men used to in the "old days". Those were the days remember? When men were MEN, and the women LOVED IT.
